THE EXPANDED SYNTHESIS OF IDEAS AND FORMS IN THE TRANS-FORMATION WORKS OF IVEN ORX & AARON VINN

The artists Iven Orx and Aaron Vinn have dedicated many years to exploring the possibilities of art. In addition to their established series of works, they have recently been intensely focused on a new series of artworks they call TRANS-FORMATION.

In art, the term transformation generally describes the process of change and focuses on the final result. In contrast, the name of Orx and Vinn’s series TRANS-FORMATION emphasizes the process and transition of change, highlighting a deeper, fundamental level.

The works consist of a combination of images and soft sculptures. They present a transformed contemporary visual world, incorporating remnants of abstract, gestural painting translated into innovative materials, surreal to absurd beings, and twisted perspectives. The artists aim for an expanded synthesis of ideas and forms in art. They engage with overcoming dual logic and reference the idea that art operates beyond the traditional dual logic of right/wrong or true/false. They emphasize the possibility of integrating contradictory or paradoxical elements into their artworks, experimenting with various artistic concepts and forms of expression to find new ways of unification. In doing so, they use materials such as fabric, foam, plastic film, or rubber to create flexible forms. By combining different styles, techniques, and materials, a synthesis emerges that overcomes conventional artistic paradigms. These works open up a new dimension of form-making for viewers, inviting interaction and enabling immersion in a mental state beyond the ordinary.

The first exhibition of the TRANS-FORMATION works is planned for Fall 2024. It promises to be a captivating and transformative experience, inviting viewers to transcend the boundaries of the familiar and discover new perspectives on art.
