THE INTERPLAY OF EMPTINESS AND SUBSTANCE IN THE WORKS OF ABDITUM MENTIS
A breath, elusive as a distant sigh, drifts across the surface—as if light were inscribing an order that exists only in the moment of perception. The works of Abditum Mentis resist fixation, dissolving, condensing anew, in constant metamorphosis. They transcend the confines of space, unfolding through time, and what seemed solid just moments ago begins to yield, as if it had never been.
Iven Orx and Aaron Vinn create images that refuse to be bound. Metal leaf captures light, swallows it, and returns it altered. Structures rise, vanish, and reappear, like fragments of a hidden order woven into an eternal flow. Here, white is not a color but a state—sometimes heavy and dense, sometimes so translucent it nearly dissolves. The viewer’s gaze sinks in, loses its footing, is enveloped by a perception that shifts with every movement.
These works linger and elude at once—physically tangible yet ephemeral in nature. An art that never stands still, awakening anew with every ray of light, reshaping with every step of the observer. Those who stand before them once will return—for no moment is ever the same.
